Filzmoos in Summer enjoys the breathtaking and stunning views of the Bischofsmutze mountain which rises above the picturesque village.  Temperatures can rise into the thirties and lakes in the surrounding areas can reach 25 c making this an ideal place for your summer vacation.

Filzmoos is the perfect place for walking, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, horse riding
and fishing and in addition are available with professional local guides if required.

Mountain Biking

For the pleasure mountain bikers, there are many opportunities in Filzmoos with cycle routes 
clearly marked in blue on the tour map.

For the more enthusiastic cyclist there is the Dachstein Tour which covers 173 kms.  If
covered fully this would take several days to complete.  The tour takes you over three
provinces:  Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria.  The tour is spectacular as you always have
the Dachstein mountain range in view and get to see it from all sides.

Mountain Hiking and Climbing

Mountain Hiking and Climbing for all levels and abilities is available.

One and more day hikes can be taken as well as adventure hiking and hiking courses.

Climbing courses for children and young people are also available.

Special activity programmes include canyoning, rafting, mountain bike day tours and
motor bike rides.

Horse and pony riding including hourly rides or day treks are available from the following places

The diversity of the mountain landscape in and around the area offer the horse rider all
variations and levels of difficulty for a good ride out.  Well signposted bridle paths with
numerous places to stop guarantee you a perfect riding experience.  Bridle paths are clearly
marked in yellow on the tour map which is available from the Tourist Office in Filzmoos.

Fly Fishing

Those interested in fly fishing and hunting can enjoy the clear mountain streams and preserves
full of game every day of their holiday.

Crystal clear mountain streams full of trout make the perfect setting for every angler.

Fishing is available from the Hotel Hubertus in Filzmoos  who own a total of 45kms of fishing
waters.

Filzmoos Leisure Centre

Filzmoos has its own leisure centre with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and is within
5 minutes walk from Haus Lowe.  Free entry to Haus Lowe guests from winter 2008/9

Filzmoos offers a great holiday atmosphere.

There's plenty going on for children. It's great fun walking with Conny. Don´t miss Gerhard,
the fun mountain inn keeper, tame marmots, ice cream making plus lots of other surprises.
What with climbing by the Almsee lake, pony riding, cooking with the farmer's wife, BÄRTL
promises kids won't get bored in Filzmoos.

All that fresh air is sure to give children a huge appetite - don't worry, there's lots of tasty things
at the mountain inns along the way. There's something to suit every taste - ice cream, barbecued
meats, pancakes, or a snack in the cheese dairy.

Disco and mini playback show round off the week, you won't find as much action anywhere else!

There are many other easily accessible places to visit whilst staying in Filzmoos,

These are just a few items of what’s on offer around Filzmoos not to mention a culture trip to
the city of Salzburg, the birth place of Mozart to visit the beautiful gardens, architecture,
museums etc.

There are many beautiful lakes within one hours drive of Filzmoos, which include Zell am See,
Hallstatter See, Wolfgangsee, just to mention a few and all offer most sports and activities
associated with the water.

Golf

Austria is renowned for its quality golf courses of which there are 16 courses within the
Salzburg Region alone.  Three or four are within 45 minutes drive or less, the others are within
approximately 1 hour.

Also is the famous Bernhard Langer course at Schladming which is only 20 minutes drive
from Haus Lowe.
